Purpose of the Academy: The Academy conducts real estate
pre-licensing courses intended to provide students with the basic
knowledge and skills necessary to act as a real estate salesperson
and to prepare the students for the North Carolina Licensing Examination.
Entrance Requirements: All students must have a high school diploma
or the equivalent and have basic reading and math skills. No student
shall be denied admission on the basis of age, sex, race, color,
creed, national origin, religious preference.
Attendance: Students must attend at least 80% of all scheduled
classes in order to satisfactorily complete the course.
Location of Classes: All evening classes will be held at 1630 Military
Cutoff Rd., Suite 110; Wilmington, NC 28403. Morning classes will be held at 5215 Junction Circle, Ste 102; Wilmington, NC 28409.
Tuition and Fees: The tuition for the Salesperson course is $395.00.
This tuition covers textbooks and instructional materials.
Class Times: The Fundamentals of Real Estate is a six-week
course that meets three times a week. Classes will be held Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 10:00 P.M. or mornings
9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
Refund Policy: The Academy agrees to refund tuition, less $50
to the student if the student withdraws before the first class
begins. If the student reschedules for the next Fundamentals course
offered the $50 would be credited to the student as partial payment
for the course. No refunds after first class.
Rescheduling and Cancellations:
The Academy's policy states that classes canceled due to inclement
weather or other emergencies will be rescheduled for the following
Saturday. Should a course be canceled, the student's tuition will
be fully refunded.
Registration: Immediate registration is recommended to reserve

We will send you a confirmation and Student Enrollment Contract
that sets forth the basic rights and obligations of both the student
and the school which has been approved by the North Carolina Real
Estate Commission and must be executed before the first class meeting.
Late Registration: Late registration is accepted only as space
permits.
Student Conduct: Students are expected to be prompt and to bring
a calculator, writing materials and a positive attitude to each
class session.
Examination and Grading: Upon satisfactorily completing the Fundamentals
of Real Estate Salesperson course with a passing grade of 80%,
and scoring 75% or higher on the final examination, the student
will qualify to take the real estate licensing examination for
the state of North Carolina. All retakes of the course examination
must be made within 2 weeks after the ending date of the course.
You will have two opportunities to pass the final examination.
Course Description
Fundamentals of Real Estate Salesperson Course: This course consists
of 68 hours of instruction in basic real estate principles and
practices, including real estate law, financing, brokerage, closing,
real estate valuation, property management, taxation, and mathematics.
Also included is instruction on construction, land use, property
insurance, and the North Carolina Real Estate License Law and
Rules/Regulations of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
